Vimeo is a video uploading service like YouTUBE only better in my opinion because with their subscription service you have much more control over your videos. Beyond that their video quality is spectacular. I know more than a few photographers that use Vimeo and now with more and more DSLR’s sporting HD video capture I can only see it getting used more and more.
Recently Vimeo released their Desktop Uploader that runs on Adobe Air (discussed here) which means yes, it’s PC and Mac Compatible. Using the software means 10 simultanious uploads and the ability to pause and restart uploads rather than the old one upload at a time method. Other nice features include the ability to change Title, basic privacy options, tags and descriptions.
If you don’t already know about Vimeo it’s definitely a service to look into for your video hosting. There are both free and Plus accounts, with the Plus (paid service) running $60 for a year and giving you many options for your videos including preventing certain websites from displaying the video, additional upload space and storage for both the original file format as well as the Vimeo video format your video is converted into by the Vimeo servers.
